On 20th August 2016, the awesome folks at Zeta organized the Bangalore Dribbble Meetup, the first and biggest ever designer meet up in the city.

For those unaware, Dribbble is like a show-and-tell place for designers, illustrators, artists, typographers, and creatives of all sorts to promote, discover and explore design. It is an online community that brings together designers across the globe, enabling them to showcase their design work for the entire world to see and appreciate.

This being my first designer meetup, I was pretty excited about it and it sure as hell, was amazing. So, here’s me penning down some words about the engaging experience I had.

Fun is where Dribbble is!

The doors opened at 10 am and within less than an hour more than 300 designers, from all over the country, were present in the indoor gardens of the Zeta HQ.

And you know what happens when so many creative minds gather — Just one thing, MAGIC.

Bonjour, My Name is Vivek!

Hello, Bonjour, Ola, Ciao, Hola, Halo, Namaste, Namaskar, Salaam, Saluto, Vanakkam, Sain Bainuu, Salemetsiz Be!!

Everyone around was busy looking for their teams and getting to know their one another. It was good to see how strangers in such a short span of time became friends.

Creative Haemorrhage kicks off!

After an inspiring talk on Persuasive Design by Felix Jamestin, it was time to put on our creative hats. Lunch, Work & Play.

While some were getting playful with the props, others were busy ideating new designs with peanuts.

It was fun watching teams sitting together and brainstorming to crack the problem.

In our case, Team Bonjour & Team Halo joined forces to make finding food easier for Zombies.

After all, in post-apocalyptic world, why should humans have all the fun ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Meanwhile, people were sharing the feels by using #BlrDribbble in their tweets.

And not to forget, the Chilli eating competition for getting brownie points.

Did you say cupcakes??

Face-painting and cosplay followed afterwards.

By the time we noticed, it was already 4 pm and the day was reaching it’s end. Now the teams were supposed to present a marketing campaign for the apps they were working on respectively.

After the presentations were over, the winners and runner-ups of the events were announced and the meetup was concluded.

Oh! I almost missed to mention, Our Team got the consolation prize.

Can a meetup ever be complete without a group pic?

Or without the fascinating goodies?

Thanks Zeta, Inkinite, Drift Dots and Pixster for the wonderful goodies. The T-Shirt is missing though as I was wearing it while clicking the pictures. :) :p

It’s not the end, It’s the beginning!

All in all, it was a day well spent with so many talented fellow designers. With lots of awesomeness and fun, the event made me appreciate the design world even more than I already do.

It was my first meetup but definitely not the last!

Signing off!

P.S. If you enjoyed reading the post, do recommend and share. :)
